Mr. Douglas Roy Parker, Jr., age 82, passed away at his home on Friday, May 18, 2018. Mr. Parker is preceded in death by his daughter, Jayne Marie Lambert and parents, Douglas Roy Parker, Sr. and Edith Marie Parker. He was part-owner and operator for over 50 years of his family business, Jones Welding Company. Doug loved hunting, fishing and his antique vehicles. He was a Master Mason of Semmes Lodge 878 and past Master. He was a member of. Scottish Rite, Daughters of the Nile, Shriners, the North Side Cruiser Car Club and Wings Over Dixie Motorcyle Club. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jessie Myers Parker, sons, Douglas Roy Parker, III of Semmes and Samuel John Parker (Brandy) of Pascagoula and daughter, Julie Ann Garcia (Lewis). He is also survived by his two step-sons, Herman Robinson (Sandra), Garner, Iowa, Christopher Robinson (Laura), Semmes, sister, Gloria Durley, Saraland. Also left to honor his memory are his grandchildren; S.J., Matt, Luke, Jonathan, Gracie, Ellie, Taylor; step-grandchildren; Matthew, Julian, Leonie, Max, Morgan, Brooklyn, Cherrish, Paige, Michelle and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He also leaves behind his precious puppy Peanut, affectionately known as “PP”. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the Oakleigh Chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the New Hope Gardens. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be employees of Jones Welding Company.
