Mr. Earl Douglas Brunt, Jr. - a native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Lunenburg, MA. and Mobile, AL., passed away on May 11, 2018 at local hospital. Mr. Brunt was a graduate of Murphy High School class of 1953 and a graduate of Springhill College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He had a passion for sailing and was a member of the Mobile Yacht Club. He made time in his schedule to be a piper, playing for weddings and funerals and studied at the North American Academy of Piping and Drumming. He also was an accomplished professional musician playing the piano and bass violin. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of several Mardi Gras mens societies and served as president of one of Mobile's biggest and most popular parading societies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Brunt, Sr., Willa Mae Odom; a son, Van Douglas Brunt and two sons-in-laws Donald W. Chancey and Gary Gamble
Mr. Brunt is survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy Binet Brunt; 3 children, Page Chancey Gamble, Mary Gay (Patric) Hunt, Todd (Rhonda) Brunt, 1 grandson, 6 grand daughters, 14 great-grandchildren a sister in law, Lynn Binet, 5 nephews, 2 nieces. numerous cousins with one first cousin in Mobile, Edward Odom and other cousins in New England. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 5pm until 8pm at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, Mobile, Al. on Saturday, May 19th at 12:30 pm.
Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, AL
