

Capt. Earl Leroy Cornelius, born August 26, 1944. Cornelius passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 21, 2015. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 47 years, Marianne (Lockwood) Cornelius, whom he met during the summer of 1967 in Miami, Florida on a charter fishing boat. They were married on July 27, 1968. He is also survived by his daughter Amy (Justin) Cornelius Barbour, his three sons Robert (Deborah) Cornelius, Troy (Becky) Cornelius, and Jason (Wendy) Cornelius, ten grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, his father Warren Cornelius, three brothers, one sister, nieces, nephews, and many close friends including his lifelong friend Lester Oliver. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Cornelius, his brother Robert Cornelius, and nephew Steve Walston. Earl was a lifelong resident of Mobile County, an avid fisherman and hunter. He passed his love for the outdoors to his children and grandchildren, teaching them all he knew. He was known as the “Bull Minnow” King on the causeway and throughout Baldwin County. Through his bull minnow business he met and became friends with many people over the years. He leaves a legacy of hard work, friendships, and love for his family. A memorial service will be held from the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home on Saturday October 24, 2015 at 3PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 until 3PM.
