Earlene Askew, 85, of Mobile, AL, passed away Monday, February 27, 2017. She retired from International Paper Company after several years of service in Telecommunications. She was a very sweet and loving mother, who loved to fish off the "big boat", Darlene, which was named after her daughter. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, Levi Earl and Mabel Wimpee; her husband of 53 years, David Askew; daughter, Darlene Askew; one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger (Daniel) Robinson, and one brother, Doug Wimpee. Visitation for Earlene will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017, with a chapel service to follow at Pine Crest Funeral Home. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. The family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
