Edward Gray Grimes, Jr., 90 born January 16, 1934 in Valdosta, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024. Mr. Grimes was retired from the International Paper Company after 47 years of service. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a car enthusiast, and an avid Antique Car Collector. He was a member of the AACA of the Deep South Region. The Mobile Bay Mustang Club, the Gulf Coast Classic Thunderbird Club of the CTCI. Edward was the first recipient in the Gulf Coast area to receive the Robotic Heart Valve Surgery in 2012. He was a loving and devoted father. Mr. Grimes was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Grimes and his parents, Edward Gray Grimes, Sr., and Christine Peek Grimes.
He is survived by his devoted son, Edward “Eddie” Gray Grimes, III. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, 3155 Dauphin Street, Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Interment to follow at Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
