Edward F. McGowan

Mr. Edward F. McGowan, age 83, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Mr. McGowan was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean Conflict and retired from Courtald's Fibers. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nathalie Cady McGowan; parents, Martin Sylvester McGowan and Mabel Burns McGowan; and siblings, David C. McGowan, Elodie M. McQuillen, Angela M. Games and Mabel M. Rooney. He is survived by his siblings, Martin S. McGowan, John P. McGowan, Margaret M. Scott, Catherine "Kaky" M. Hughes and Ann M. Druhan; children, Larissa M. Hile (Allen), Erin M. McGowan, Paul E. McGowan (Katherine), Doloria M. Watson (Michael), Mark P. McGowan (Kim) and Rosalia M. McLellan (Tim), 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1400 Joyce Rd, Mobile, AL on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. Mr. McGowan's family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to Mr. McGowan's favorite charitable organizations: Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Lung Association or Franciscan Missions.
