

Mr. Ernest B. Lewis, Jr., a native of St. Louis, MO and longtime resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest B. and Mary Lewis. Mr. Lewis served his country in the United States Air Force for eleven years as an aircraft mechanic. He worked for the Sheetmetal Association for over 20 years and as a general contractor as owner of Ernie’s Home Repairs. He was member of Azalea Lodge No. 898 F@AM. He will be remembered by his nickname “Cake Man” for his famous pound cakes that he loved to bake and share. Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eleanor Frances Smith Lewis and children, Donna Lewis Christian (V. Flynn Christian), Bryan Keith Lewis and Robert L. Lewis. He also leaves to cherish his memory, nephew, Alan Robinson and niece, Christy Robinson Miller, two great-great nephews and all the other Smith and Duke family that he adopted as his own. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church, Mobile, AL at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery.
