Faye (Mema) Watson, 90, passed away on Saturday, February 3,2024 at her home in Theodore with family by her side. She was born May 16,1933 to James and Lillie Mae Woodward of Alabama. She married Joe Watson Jr. on March 20, 1949. They had three children, Joe III, Janice and Steve.
She is survived by her children Janice (James) Gills and Steve (Lucy) Watson; grandchildren Joe Watson IV, Charles (Tracie) Gills and Danielle (John) LeBourgeois, several great grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren, sister Rita Robertson and several friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Lillie Mae and James Woodward, her husband Joe Watson Jr, her son Joe Watson III, brothers Jimmy and Johnnie Woodward, sister Laura Mae Graham, grandchildren Jeff Gills and Debbie Smith.
Faye will be remembered for her lifelong commitment to her children and their children. Mama and Mema were her two favorite titles and roles in life. Anyone who knew her knew she lived for her babies no matter how big or old.
Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Monday, February 12, 2024 from 1:30pm-2:30pm. Chapel service will begin at 2:30pm with interment to follow at Pine Crest Cemetery.
