

Fenton E. "Pete" Dobbs, resident of Mobile, was born on March 15, 1932, passed away on April 12, 2012. Pete is survived by his loving and devoted spouse of 60 years, Kathryn "Kitty" Dobbs. Pete was born in Mobile and attended Murphy High School. After graduation he joined his father Fenton Dobbs and brother, Doug Dobbs in the family construction business, F.A. Dobbs & Sons. He soon married high school sweetheart, Kathryn Doherty and then served in the Navy during the Korean War. Pete was an avid Alabama fan, attending most every football game each season and also served on the Board for the Red Elephant Club of Mobile. All of his life he was a very active member within the Government Street Baptist Church, serving as deacon, head of the finance and building committees. Pete enjoyed travel and loved his family and friends. It was clear to all who loved him, that he also loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Additional survivors include his daughter, Debbie Mann; his sons, Wayne Dobbs and Mike Dobbs of Atlanta; his grandchildren, Jamie Gulas Denkers of Birmingham, Michael Mann Jr., Lauren Dobbs Lee, Caroline Dobbs, Connor, and Mary Carson Dobbs of Atlanta. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Trevor and Torie Denkers, both of Birmingham.
The family will receive visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012, at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street, with funeral service offered at 11:30 a.m. and graveside service immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pete's honor to Government Street Baptist Church, 3401 Government Blvd., Mobile, AL 36693, or the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N.
