

Frances Turnipseed Brunson, age 99, passed peacefully from this life to eternal life at home on December 27, 2016 in Mobile, AL. She was born in Mt. Meigs, AL, March 15, 1917. She resided in Montgomery, Al, most of her life. She resided also in Mt. Juliet, TN, Auburn, AL and moved to Mobile, AL, in 2013.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 in Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL at 12:00 noon with Rev. Larry Armstrong officiating.
Mrs. Brunson was preceded in death by her late husband of 54 years, Joseph Graham Brunson; sons, Gerald Eugene Carter and William Thomas Carter; parents, Will Tom Turnipseed and Zelma Alford Turnipseed; four sisters, Elizabeth Penton, Laura Rea, Lucy Heigle, Willie Bell; one brother, J. W. (Jake) Turnipseed and daughter-in-law, Patsy Pritchett Carter.
Mrs. Brunson is survived by her daughter-in-law, Eloise Hall Carter, five grandchildren; Fran C. Thomason (Stephen), Apollo Beach, FL; Joel H. Carter (Tamara); Phenix City, AL; L. Mark Carter (Rhonda), Lebanon, TN; Teri C. Crum (Ed) Auburn, AL and Vann T. Carter, Birmingham, AL; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brunson retired from the State of Alabama, Agriculture Department in 1977. While residing in Montgomery, she was an active member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church; in Mobile she was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Brunson may be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church Foundation, 2 South McGregor Avenue, Mobile, AL 36608 or to a charity of your choice.
