Frances Lucille Salas, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 6, 2024. Lucille was born to Ralph and Ida Bell Reeves on October 4, 1940 in Bakersfield, California. She met and married the love of her life, Norman Leon Salas, on November 14, 1956. Upon marrying, the pair moved to Phoenix, Arizona before permanently relocating to Mobile, Alabama to be closer to family. Leon and Lucille raised five sons together: Kenneth, Ralph, Charles, Darren, and Michael. Lucille was a stay-at-home wife and mother. Lucille lived in humility and grace. She was one of the most generous souls one would ever meet, and always had a smile on her face, regardless of her circumstances. Lucille enjoyed sewing, putting together puzzles, and completing word search puzzles. She also collected elephants, had a green-thumb, and loved animals. Above everything that Lucille was, she was a woman of God. She loved the Lord, and loved to read and live in His Word. Lucille would share her faith with anyone who would listen. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
Lucille was preceded in death by her son, Charles; daughter, Rebecca; parents; and sisters, Jennifer and Sharon.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 67 years, Leon Salas; four sons: Kenneth (Vicki) Salas, Ralph “Lawrence” (Carol) Salas, Darren Salas, and Michael (Heather) Salas; grandchildren: Rebeka (Gus) Taylor, Kayla (Lee) Jenkins, Ryan Salas, Gregory (Kristin) Salas, Amanda Salas, Anthony (Christina) Salas, Ashley (Andrew) Marcantonio, Aaron Salas, Brianna (Casey) Burton, Nikoli Salas, Joey (Whitney) Lambeth, Jeremy (Brianna) Lambeth, Jesse Salas, and Logan (Kristen) Salas; 27 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary Reeves and Tommy Reeves; sister, Jeannie Johnson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Lucille will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
