

Mr. Francis “Frank” A. Kling Jr., born on March 12, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was the oldest son of Frank & Rosa Kling and a lifelong resident of Mobile. He passed away May 28, 2013 after a brief illness. Frank married his beloved wife, Sharon Butler on February 16, 1966 celebrating 47 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Kling, Sr; brothers, Larry and Johnny Kling. He is survived by his three sons, Frank A. Kling, III, Nick (Daphne) Kling and David L. Kling all of Mobile, AL. He adored his nine grandchildren, Ashley Kling, Courtney (Ced) Doggett, Ronnie, David, Joshua, Kyler, Shelby, Audrey Kling and Noah (Brittany) Dixon. Two beautiful great grans, Harmony Kennedy and Melodey Dixon; siblings, Joy (Ted) Ewing, Stella (Wayne) McMichael, and George (Barbara) Kling, Sr. of Lancaster, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank retired from the State of Alabama Highway Department as a Civil Engineer with 41 years of service. He was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, where he served as President of the Finance Committee and other committees for over 18 years. A former member of Little Flower Catholic Church, he served Catholic Engaged Encounter with his wife for 36 years. He was also involved with Cursillo, Marriage Encounter and Knights of Columbus Council 4888 and assisted in providing food for the elderly and others throughout the Semmes community. Frank graduated from McT in 1964, attended the University of South Alabama for two years. He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Wurzburg, Germany. If you met Frank you soon became aware that he loved his wife and family, God and Alabama Football. He was man of profound sincerity, great faith and totally dedicated to his family . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 PM with Rosary at 6:30 PM. Active pallbearers will be Nick Kling, David Kling, Frank Kling, III., Kyler Kling, Andrew Butler, Ira Butler and Jimmy Butler, Jr. .
