

Frank Thomas Morton – a 73 year-old native and resident of Mobile passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011. Mr. Morton retired from CSX Railroad as a conductor after 33 years of service. He was a graduate of McGill Institute, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was a Past-president of Chapter 417 of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Mr. Morton was preceded in death by a son, Thomas James Autry; parents, Sherard and Hilda Morton; and sister, Regina Morton. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mae Jewell Morton; children: Johnny Autry (Betty), Hilda Forbes (Chris), and Frank Thomas Morton, Jr.; brothers: Fred Morton (Janice) and Daniel Morton (Barbara); grandchildren: Jenny Walker (Devin), April Hayes, Harley Autry, Megan Autry, Abby Autry, Heather Forbes, and Brianna Forbes; great-grandchildren: Jonathan Walker and Ginna Walker; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Monday, July 18, 2011, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 17, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West.
