Frank Emanuel Simodel

Frank "Mannie" Simodel, age 84, passed away peacefully at a local hospital on Saturday, August 29, 2020; He was a native and lifelong resident of Dauphin Island, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Simodel and Lucille (Previto) Simodel both of Dauphin Island, AL, wife Geraldine (Patronas) Simodel, stepson Carl E. Ishee, step-grandsons, Johnathon Ishee, Chris Steiner and sister Priscilla (Simodel) Johnson.

Mr. Simodel is survived by his son, Glenn D. Simodel and daughter Machelle (Woodrow) Steiner all of Dauphin Island. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Natalie Wilson, Nicole Wilson, Mathew Steiner, stepgrandson, Justin Ishee and six great-grandchildren; Sydney Wilson, Shelby White, Ansleigh Ishee, Abigail Ishee, Lauren Ishee and Skye Ard.

Frank was a man of strength and courage who loved playing guitar, fishing, telling jokes and his family. He was fortunate enough to have travelled the world while in the Merchant Marines and then in his later years, he worked and retired from the Town of Dauphin Island. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Edmunds by the Sea Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
