Franklin Willard Hill, Sr., 85, a life-long resident of Mobile, Alabama, went to be with Our Lord and family on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Mr. Hill was a member of the Knights of Colombus, and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church for over 50 years. He was an avid sports fan – he loved to kick back, relax, and watch the Atlanta Braves play some baseball or the Crimson Tide play football. Mr. Hill also loved history, accruing several volumes of historical books over the years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Claire Stewart Hill; and his son, Franklin W. Hill, Jr.
Mr. Hill is survived by his children, Catherine Hill Farmer (Randall), Joseph Hampton Hill (Robin), and Anna Hill Atkins (Glenn); grandchildren, Brent Hill, Rachel Hill, Eleanor Foster, Sarah Mitchell, Frances Peele, Franklin W. Hill, III, Nicole Hill, Heather Hill, and Jonathan Atkins; a great-granddaughter, Charley Lynn Hill; as well as other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Hill will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West on Snow Road.
