
Fred Collins Bacot went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 3, 2017. He was born on November 16, 1920 in McComb, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Johnson Bacot; daughter, Linda Cain; son, Larry Bacot; brothers, Randolph and Bud Bacot; sisters, Juanita Bearden and Jane Bridges. He is survived by his identical twin brother, James Lamar Bacot (Frances); grandsons, John Cain (Becky) and Stephen Cain; two great grandchildren, Maddie and Levi; special niece and nephew, Teresa Bacot Herbu (Angelo), Jimmy Bacot (Cindy) as well as many other nieces and nephews. Fred was a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama. As a young man he served in the U.S. Navy, was a WWII veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He also had a career in civil service working at Brookley Field and eventually retired from the Naval Air Station Pensacola. Fred was an active member of Sage Avenue Baptist Church for 69 years. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 36606.
