

Fred Milton Hazard Jr., a life-long residence of the Mobile area, passed away on August 13, 2020 at age 67. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Ward Hazard, and children Mary Katherine Hazard and Jeffrey Michael Hazard. He is preceded in death by his parents Edna and Fred Hazard Sr. and his grandson Payton A. Hazard.
Fred worked at Scott Paper Company/Kimberly Clark for 37 years and retired in 2010. He was a talented athlete throughout his life, coaching both of his children in baseball and softball, and also played softball for his church league’s and company’s league from is 20’s well into his 40’s.
In addition to playing sports, Fred was a lifelong fanatical Alabama football fan. Every Saturday in the fall was dictated by Alabama football. Other than his extreme love for Alabama football, Fred will always be remembered for his love of dogs and his keen sense of humor. He owned many dogs throughout his life, fostered as well and always put his pets first. But his sense of humor is the most defining characteristic he will always be remembered for.
A special thanks to Terri Rice, R.N., M.S.N. and Dr. Chad Alford, for all the help and sacrifices made during Fred’s lengthy illness. Their friendship, dedication and loyalty to the Hazard family will never be forgotten.
Pallbearers are: Joseph Rice, Keith Rice, Eric Blankenhorn, Drew Adams, Charles Beritech, Jeff Hazard.
Honorary pallbearers are: Mike Butler, Wayne Hunter, Odis Gray and Marion “Willie” Norton.
Chaplain Henry Thomas will officiate the graveside service, Monday August 17th at 10:30 am, Jubilee Memorial Gardens in Daphne.
