Capt. Gary Lynn Collier - loving father and grandfather, a 59 year-old resident of Coden passed away Monday, September 23, 2013. He was a longtime boat captain for Barry Graham Oil Service. Capt. Collier, an avid boater, loved spending time on the water.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Collier, Sr. and Margaret Inez Lyons Collier. Capt. Collier is survived by his children, Gerald Fowler-Collier (Tara), Trina Sprinkle (Chester), Bonnie McCollough (Glenn), Lynn Collier, and Margaret Roberson (Keith); brothers, Johnny Collier (Nancy), Wayne Collier (Margaret), Dwayne Collier, and Farrell Collier (Paula); sister, Angela Hamilton (Wayne); 12 grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret Catholic Church on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, September 24, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Coden.
