Gladys E. (Jackie) Everett Simms passed away on February 10, 2014 at a nursing home in Mobile, Alabama. A resident of Mobile, Alabama for 41 years, she was born September 17, 1922 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to James and Nannie Everett. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gary W. Simms. She will be missed by her daughter, Gaye Simms and son Stephen E. (Libby) Simms, three grandchildren, Stepheni R. Gray, Clayton B. Robinson, Christopher B. Robinson, seven great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Genevieve Tarver of Yazoo City, Mississippi as well as many nephews and nieces. Her hobbies included golf and bridge. She was a renowned artist and her paintings hang in many homes in Mobile. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home, Yazoo City, Mississippi.
