

Glenn William Bendel, 91, passed away on November 1, 2022 at The Retreat in Mobile, Alabama. He was born December 21, 1930, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to the late Henry John and Alice Ida Roth Bendel. Glenn grew up in Madison, Minnesota. He served in the Armed Forces from 1950-1952 at Ft. Rucker AL. Glenn met Judy at a portable roller-skating rink in Troy Alabama where they married in 1954. After living in Selma for some time they moved their family to Mobile in 1966. He was employed at Delchamps until 1987. Glenn was up to a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus and a member of St Vincent de Paul Society. He was a very active parishioner of St. Pius X Church including a Eucharist Minister and Lector. Over the years he enjoyed volleyball, tennis, badminton, gardening but, mostly, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Glenn was preceded in passing by his parents, his beloved wife; Judith Frances Jordan Bendel, two sons; Juddy Roth Bendel, James Dennis Bendel, one daughter; Janis Denise Bendel Bowen, five siblings: Alfred Bendel, Eugene Bendel, Gerald Bendel, Marilyn Bendel Anderson Ludwig, and Sister Mary Bendel Phyliss.
Left to cherish Glenn’s wonderful memories will be his four children: Barbara Hutson (Bill), Bill Bendel (Brenda), Nancy Jo Schultz (Jim), Marda Davis (James), eighteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Daphne, AL.
