Glenn Dayton Gunter

Glenn Dayton Gunter, Jr., age 77, resident of Jackson, AL, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 in Mobile, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn D. and Mildred Buckner Gunter, brother, Jerry Gunter, nephew, John Gunter and in-laws, Perry and Julia McClure.

Mr. Gunter served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam Conflict. He served with the 4080th Strat-Recon Wing and was a specialist on U-2 reconnaissance planes. He was an industrial electrician by trade. He was a patriot who loved his family and his country. He was a lifelong member of Rockville Baptist Church.

Mr. Gunter is survived by his loving wife Karen McClure Gunter and children; Krystal (Ry) Clifford and Glenn (Stacy) Gunter, III. His grandchildren, Kaitlin Gunter, Rian Busby, Riley Clifford, Brenna Clifford, Glenn Dayton Gunter, IV and Houston Gunter, brother Johnny Gunter, sister, Sheila (Stan) Wilson, brother-in-law, Eddie (Brenda) McClure, nieces, Ginger (Ralph) Ryser, Mitzi Gunter, Rachel (Jacob) Waterman, Nina (Josh Smelley), nephews, Phillip (Morgan) Willingham and Kevin Gunter also survive him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Rockville Baptist Church in Jackson, AL with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery

Serving as pallbearers will be: Geary Williams, Wayne Wiggins, Phillip Willingham, Kevin Taylor, Ricky Merle Powell and Mirko Pezent.
