Gregory Christian Cummins, 51, left this life on July 24, 2020, due to complications from Covid-19. Greg was born on October 24, 1968, to Gloria Wells Cummins and was a lifelong Mobilian. Raised in the Roman Catholic faith, in his youth, Greg served as an altar boy at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He attended school at Glendale Elementary, St. Thomas Parochial School, and C. F. Vigor High School.

Before training as an automotive painter, Greg worked at the University of South Alabama, where he met his future wife, Maggie Ferguson. They had a daughter, Teagan Alize Ferguson, who was his pride and joy. Greg was a devoted husband and father who took great pride in providing a loving and nurturing home for his wife, daughter, and stepsons Tavares Alexander Ferguson, Kenneth Darcel Carter, and Kylvin Dion Carter.

Greg was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Oregon Ducks, and the New England Patriots. He was interested in his family genealogy and history. He loved music, spicy foods, and a good cup of coffee. Greg was always the one in the family who was up for trying something new. He enjoyed working on his truck, doing home improvement projects, and landscaping his yard. Greg loved the holidays and decorating for Halloween and Christmas, especially for his children and grandchildren. Most of all, Greg loved spending time with his family.

Greg was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was kindhearted and generous, always the one that people turned to in their time of need, and he never failed to provide his help and support. In addition to his mother, wife, and children, Greg is survived by his sisters Sylvia Dianne Cummins, Cynthia Cummins Khan, and Karen Cummins Anwar; his brother Mark Anthony Cummins; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Greg's memory will be cherished by all of us, and he will continue to live on in our hearts.

My cherished memories were When we were growing up. We were always into something, playing Barbies, little cars, riding bikes, board games... you see, you were my little brother but also my best friend. Your passing had given me the gift to embrace the mornings with a cup of coffee, take in the air, feel the wind and sun on my face, to watch sunsets and rainbows and enjoy the ppl in my life more. You just went somewhere that’s all. I’ll tell you all about it when we meet again my Best friend.

The memories of my dearest ever loving brother will always be in my heart, my mind, and my pictures. Your presence, your voice, and my visits to see you will forever be wished for. May your soul be at peace and forever watching over me and your loved ones.

...till we meet again.

I will always remember my uncle, Greg, as a beacon of positivity and compassion. From my earliest memories to my recent understanding of his character, he was always looking out for others. I know that he always cared for his family and friends with a smile on his face. It’s incredibly unfortunate that his life ended this early when I know he had a lot more to give. I only hope to continue on his good-spirited intentions, as he would have surely continued to give to his loved ones. May he rest in eternal peace.

Uncle Greg truly was one of a kind. He always went out of his way to make sure everyone was taken care of, often putting their needs before his own. His character and compassion for life resonated deeply in his bonds with others. Now is the time of deep grievances and reminiscence for his friends and family. May he Rest In Peace.

Greg, a young man with a big heart and a true zest for life. His smile brought joy for everyone and his open arms to welcome all with love and warmth was his genuine trademark.

Always there for any moment and never hesitant to show his care or to go out of the way to help. This world was a better place with Greg but now remains an empty place on planet earth that will never be filled with the love that Greg shared with various living beings on this planet. Love in its true form.

Your strength, wit, intellect and dignity is what we will cherish forever dear brother. I will miss you while I bask in your memories with a big smile. You left too soon.

Gregory Cummins was such a nice and very kind person who I met in 1993 One of the most helpful and approachable person I have ever encountered and treated everyone equally, spoke highly of his life and family. May God grant you strength and peace in the days ahead. This brings such sadness to hear of this sweet man's passing. He was such a positive and truly happy person and made you feel so blessed when he was around. I send my deepest condolences to the family.
RIP my friend!
