Harold Thomas Rice

Mr. Harold Thomas Rice, age 91, passed away Saturday, 4 August 2013. Mr. Rice was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He served his country beginning in 1942 attached to the United States Army Air Corps. He transferred to the United States Air Force 18 September 1947 and continued serving in the Air Force reaching the rank of Senior Master Sargent. After 21 years of service he retired in 1963 and brought his family back to Mobile. He was a member of a local Mystic Society. Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Louise (Cleghorn) Rice. He is survived by his brother, James O. Rice and 4 sisters, Betty Boswell, Rosanna Jensen, Jeanette Penner and Lillian Kerner. He is survived by his 7 children; Edward E. Rice, Katherine Jeanette Seppamaki, Barbara A. Mitchell, Connie L. Lavelle, Harold Thomas (Tommy) Rice, Jr. Mary J. Gilliland and John S. Rice. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens cemetery.
