

Harvey Dewitt (Butch) Trawick, III, age 71, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 after an extended illness. He is preceded in death by his mother Katherine Morrison Wilson. father, Harvey Dewitt Trawick, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL, sister, Dianne Trawick Cox and brother James Morrison Kress. Butch was a graduate of Murphy High School, attended Marion Military Institute, the University of Alabama and graduated with a BA from Livingston University. He served his country honorably in the Army as a medic. He then worked for his great-grandfather’s insurance business, W.K.P. Wilson and Sons, which later became Willis Insurance of Mobile. Butch was voted Mobile’s Bachelor of the Year and was also King of Mardi Gras in 1972. Butch was active in various civic associations as well as the Mobile Carnival Association and Athelstan Club. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church where he served on the vestry. Butch is survived by his daughter, Caroline Allmon Trawick and brother, Paul Wilson (Beryl) Trawick. He is also survived by his niece, Katherine Trawick (Keith) Smith and three nephews, Paul Wilson Trawick, Jr., Morrison Andrew (Kathryn) Trawick, Kevin Cox (Jenni), great-niece and three great-nephews. Visitation will be held at Christ Church Cathedral on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Palmer Adams of Union Grove, AL, Donald "Skip" Elmore Brutkiewicz, Jr., Clifton Clark Inge, Gilbert Russell Ladd, III, Ray H. Miller, III, Boyce Keith Smith Morrison "Mat" Andrew Trawick and Paul Wilson Trawick, Jr. all of Mobile, AL. Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home.
