Hazel Donaldson Harris

Mrs. Hazel D. Harris, age 93, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 19, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy M. Harris, parents, Henry and Bertie Jolly Donaldson, son, Terry Allen Harris and brothers, Howard and Curtis Donaldson. Mrs. Harris was a lifetime member of Government Street Baptist Church where she served as church hostess for over forty years, and was the church and school librarian for many years. Mrs. Harris was the oldest member of the church. She will be remembered as “Grandma” by many. Her family will remember her as a Christian woman, who loved her family dearly. Mrs. Harris is survived by her son Henry Eric Harris, six grandchildren; Jennifer, Tonya, Sean, Susan, Rebecca and Margaret. She is also survived by her special niece, Judy Johnson, who she loved as a daughter, ten great-grandchildren; Jordan, Cameron, Zach, Zailey, Emmy, Windsor, Augustus, Grey, Trey, Ella , many other family and friends. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Government Street Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
