Helen Petrey Thomas – an 84 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2011. Mrs. Thomas was a member of two local mystic organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, City of Mobile Fire Chief L.L. Petrey and Helen Stewart Petrey. She is survived by her children, Pamela Bates and her husband, John, Stephen Thomas and his wife, Mary Margaret, and Andy Thomas and his wife, Lisa; granddaughter, Helen Alexandra Thomas; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour.
