
Henry Edward Reimer, Jr. - died July 11, 2012, in Mobile. Mr. Reimer was born in Mobile on November 23, 1920. He graduated from McGill Institute in 1940 and, after 5 years in the U.S. Air Force, graduated from Spring Hill College in 1949. He received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1954 and continued his practice even after his retirement in 1987 from Wiik, Reimer, Lawrence & Dudley, PC. He served as president of two mystic societies and enjoyed parading with his son, sons-in-law and grandsons well into his 80's. He loved fishing, sunsets on the Bay, and time with his family. As a committed Christian who loved the Lord, he was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was active in McGill-Toolen and Spring Hill College alumni associations. Mr. Reimer was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Edward and Hettie Snyder Reimer and by sisters Marion Bromley and Betty Cockrell, and brother Trueman Reimer. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Thelma Jackson Reimer, in 1989, and by his wife of 2 years, Carmen Hannah Reimer, in 1993.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Rosemary Latham Reimer; daughter Regina Reimer Ehlert, and her husband William Ehlert, MD; son Daniel Edward Reimer, MD and his wife Ann Giblin Reimer; daughter Melanie Reimer Moore and her husband Hal Moore, MD; and brother John Francis Reimer and his wife Alice Nadeau Reimer.
He is also survived by his beloved step-children Thomas Latham and his wife Libba, Kathy Latham Walton and her husband Johnny, Richard Latham and his wife Virginia, and Lynn Latham widow of the late James Latham; grandchildren William E. Ehlert and his wife Marie, Emily Reimer-Barry PhD and her husband, Jay Barry, Paul H. Moore III, MD and his wife, Mary Kempton, Amanda Reimer MD, Wesley Ehlert and his wife, Ashley, Melissa Reimer MD, John Larsen Moore and his wife, Aleisha, Daniel Edward Reimer, Jr., Michael Riley Moore, Jay Latham, Jean Latham, Julie Latham, Rad Latham, Marshall Walton, Taylor Walton, Rosey Latham and Forsyth Latham; great-grandchildren Ravyn Rudolph, Chandler Zavaros, Zoe Zavaros, Audrey Ehlert, Bailey Rose Ehlert, Leigh Alison Barry, Alice Mauldin Moore, Gage Moore, Wilhemina Ehlert and Brynne Louisa Barry.
The family is grateful for the loving care of Mary Louise McPherson, Mary Ann Crum, and Rhonda Roebuck. The family would also like to thank the heart surgery, SICU and the third floor cardiac area, and the ultrasound department at Mobile Infirmary for their excellent care and support.
There will be a visitation Friday evening from 5 - 7 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home preceded by the recitation of the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. The funeral procession will depart from the funeral home on Saturday, July 14 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. interment at Pine Crest Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
