

Herman Lee Williams, Jr., 83, of Tanner Williams, passed away on January 9, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 12 at Tanner Williams United Methodist Church. Ray Lane will officiate with visitation being held at 9:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow the funeral at Williams Cemetery in Tanner Williams. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Radney Funeral Home. Herman was born in Mobile on February 16, 1929 and graduated from Tanner Williams High School in 1946. Herman and Ramona Williams Williams were wed on July 30, 1953 and were happily married 59 years. For 32 years Herman worked in civil service as an aircraft electrician at Brookley Field as well as Pensacola NAS all while maintaining a family farm in Tanner Williams. His passions were farming, family and faith. He was actively involved in his church, Tanner Williams United Methodist, as a Sunday School teacher for the “Young at Heart” class for seniors. Herman is survived by his spouse Ramona Williams Williams, children Karen Williams Chambless (Steve), Richard Lee Williams (Donna), Kathy Lynn Williams (John Sellars), grandchildren Lydia Knizley Johnson (Wyatt), Melissa Amelia Williams, Lindsey Caroline Williams, Lundy Lee Ann Williams and great-grandson William Burns Johnson. Herman was preceded in death by his parents Herman Lee Williams and Daisy Lundy Williams. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Tanner Williams United Methodist Church Building Fund at 1550 Grand Bay Wilmer Rd N, Mobile, AL 36608.
