Irma Irline Hallett Hamlin died peacefully at her home on August 31, 2016
at the age of 91. She was a loving and devoted wife to the late George Palmer Hamlin, Jr. They married on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1943 and were blessed to celebrate forty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Mobile, AL on March 15, 1925, the native and lifelong resident of Mobile was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Darrington and Nora Dorch Hallett. She was the youngest of her siblings who also preceded her in death; Robert Hallett, Sam Hallett (Mavis), Anna Nora Hallett, and Mary Jane Douville (Bob).
From their early twenty’s, Irline, Mary Jane and their sister-in-law, Francine Hallett, began building a lifetime of memories. In their later years these special “sisters” spent many afternoons laughing and reliving some of those shared family memories.

Also, to cherish her memory and her loving spirit are her grandchildren; David “Ty” Tyrrell, Jr. (Jennifer), Georgia Tyrrell Channell (Brandon), Jennifer Hamlin Jones (Matt), Nora Hamlin Compton (Jason), Hillary Anne Hamlin, Becky Lynn Hamlin, and her great-grandchildren; Camie Sherie Tyrrell, Isabella Irline Channell, Austin Hayes Channell, Lillian Adella Channell, Parker Hamlin Jones, Corben James Jones , Christian Scott Lingerfelt, Harrison Patrick Compton.
Irline was a fabulous cook and was her happiest when sharing her talent with family and friends. She was a fulltime homemaker, but she also enjoyed helping her husband at the Dew Drop Inn and at one time had her own “Irline’s Gumbo Shop”.
The family wishes to thank Kim Vacik, Barbara Neese, RN and Janetta Shaw from Southern Care Hospice for their wonderful support and to Angela Williams and Ruby Wilson for their loving care during Irline’s last months.
The pallbearers were Keith Walden, Christian Hicks, Joseph George, Anthony Wimberly, Earl Allen, and Michael Conklin.
Visitation was held at Pine Crest Cemetery Friday, September 2, 2016 at 9:00 AM. The Graveside service followed at 10:00 AM with Pastor Don Tuberville officiating.
