

Age 83, passed away at his home in Fairhope, Alabama, on Sunday, January 25, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born January 10, 1932, in Snyder, Texas, he lived in Texas, Florida and Alabama, but spent the majority of his life in Houston. He spent 4 years in the U. S. Navy from 1949 to 1953 stationed aboard the U. S. S. Monterrey. Jack worked for Webb Builders Hardware for over 30 years, ending his career at WBH as President, having started his career working in the warehouse. He also worked at American Door Products for 20 plus years. During his career, projects ranged from the U. S. Mint, NASA, VA hospitals to high rise condos in Orange Beach, AL. Survivors included his devoted wife of 62 years, Margie Brantley Gray, daughters and son-in-laws Lisa and Bob Olexy of Coral Gables, FL, Jackie and Loran Gerstung of Nazareth, PA, and Woodie (Buzz) Gray of Cypress, TX, grandchildren Wendy Olexy McAninch, Amy Olexy, Emily Olexy Hayer, Matthew Gray, Kristopher Gerstung, Victoria Gerstung, and Lexie Gray, and sister, Edna Harris of Weatherford, TX, who was preceded in death by her husband Don. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, an occasional martini and being surrounded by his kids and grandkids. Traveling with Margie, being a gracious host to friends and family, and making the next big sale were his passion. Visitation will be on Wednesday January 28, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Thursday morning from 9:00am to 10:00am at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL with the funeral service the next day at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum.
