Mr. Curry was employed with Smith Bakery for 35 years and Michael Speaks Engineering Firm for 32 years. He was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church for 34 years and Government Street Baptist Church for 36 years. He served as a deacon in the sunset years of his church service. Mr. Curry loved his home, loved working in his yard and helping others with special projects.
Mr. Curry was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years and 10 months, Verna Mae Graham Curry; parents, James William Curry, Sr. and Lola May Curry Johnson; his brother, Bobbie Joe Curry; nephew, James Hansel Curry and a stepson, Howard Lynn Britton.
Surviving are his sister – in – law, Jeanette Curry; niece, Deborah Jean Curry; nephew, Bruce (Carole) Curry and niece, Patrice Green, also, survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Government Street Baptist Church, a place of worship he loved.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Government Street Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the church, Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
