James Jim Robert Diamond Sr.

James R. Diamond, Sr. – a native resident of Mobile, AL. passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014. Jim was a graduate of McGill Institute. After high school, Jim graduated from Auburn University and the Florida Institute of Technology. He went on to earn his Civil Engineering Degree from University of South Alabama and was instrumental in building the Kennedy Space Center. He was a member of Our Savior Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Lillian Diamond, brother, Bernie Diamond, Jr. Jim is survived by his wife, Vennie Diamond, children; Maria DeAnne Thornton (Jake), Cheryl Anderson (Peter), Kimberly Pryor (Stephen), James Robert Diamond, Jr. (Clare). Grandchildren; Tommy, April, Steven, Jeff, Andrew, Wade, Jane Frances, Joseph, Elizabeth Ann, John Paul, James Robert, Philip, Maureen, Molly, great grandchildren, Robby, Emilie, Sara. Visitation will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Tuesday, May 6th at Our Savior Catholic Church, 1801 Cody Road, Mobile, AL. 36695 with Father David Tokarz officiating. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
