

James Albert Fox, 66, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Mobile, AL. Jimmy was an extraordinary man, with a heart for adventure. He was avidly active in kayaking, fencing, karate, hiking, sky diving – and he had been a certified diver since 1969. Jimmy enjoyed bungee jumping, the highest being 155 feet. He traveled to 26 countries, hiked the Great Wall of China and the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. He traveled the Nile Valley from Aswan to Cairo, and entered the burial chamber of the Great Pyramid. Jimmy white-water rafted 250 miles of the Colorado River as well as traveled through Central America, viewing the Mayan Ruins and diving. He also spent two months traveling by train through Europe. He received two degrees from the University of South Alabama and later volunteered at the university as well as UWF and other university Archeology departments. He was on the first Explorer Club Flag Expedition in the State of Alabama. Jimmy worked for Evonik/Degussa for over 30 years. Jimmy leaves behind the center of his world, his wife, Paula Fox and their son Nathan Fox, as well as one brother, David Mark Fox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lamar Fox Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Liming Fox; and one brother, Henry Lamar Fox Jr. A favorite quote of his, and one to remember his life: “I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.” Services to be scheduled at a later date.
