James Hollis King

James Hollis King was born in Holt, Florida to Pearl and Omery King on September 29, 1940. He was married to Janette Harvard King and was married to her for 40 years before her passing. He remarried a second time to Elizabeth Wright King and they were married for 23 years. He was an ironworker from the time he was a teenager until he retired at age 62. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local for 65 years.

James Hollis King is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Omery King, wife, Janette King, 3 sisters, Bertie Mae Adams, Arlene Robertson, & Pauline Dickson, & 2 sons, Harvey & John King.

James Hollis King is survived by his wife, Elizabeth King, 2 sons, Joey King & Jeffery Potts (Alicia Potts), 1 daughter, Angela Sigler (Chris Sigler), 1 daughter in law, Pamela King, 5 grandchildren, Ashley & Trevor King, Hunter Potts, & Brittany & Elijah Sigler; along with other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Potts, Michael Adams, Billy Vickers, Allen Wright, Chris Sigler, & Kevin Adams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter Potts & Trevor King.

A visitations will be at 10:00 am on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Radney’s Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, with James Cobb and Steve Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery, 8730 Sims Rd, Eight Mile, Alabama 36613.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s hospital. The family of James Hollis King wishes to extend our sincere thanks to each & every one of you that have been there for our family during this time.
