James Edward Mizell

James Edward Mizell passed away peacefully in his home in Sacramento, California on Saturday, September 16, 2017. James was born on August 10, 1935, in Mobil Alabama. James eventually moved his young family to Sacramento California, where most of his offspring still reside. James worked for the United States Navy\US Government Civil Service for over 35 years as an electrical engineer. James’ mother Tina Thompson predeceased him, as well as his brothers Junior and Norman, both his wives and his daughter, Faylene. He was married to his first wife, Martha Lanier for approximately 20 years and his second wife, Beverly Scribe for approximately 28 years. James was the father of Debra Gould, James Mizell Jr., Malinda Roberts, Darlene Manning, Mona Raber and Gabriel Mizell. James also was stepfather to Cathy Scribe, Jimmy Scribe, Danny Scribe, Mike Scribe and Mark Scribe. He has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL, with a graveside service immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery at 2 p.m. “Saddened by his loss, blessed by his memory.” Condolences may be offered at http://www.dignitymemorial.com/pinecrestfuneralhome/en-us/index.page
