Jane Deupree, the daughter of James and Cleo Clayton, wife of Dick Deupree, and a long time resident of Mobile, Al, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, after an extended illness. She and her husband were long-time members of St. Mark United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three children, Richard (Alicia) Deupree of Katy, Texas, Becky (Bob) Bauer of Elizabethtown, Ky, and Christy Deupree of Mobile, Al, who retired early to be a 24/7 caregiver for the past 5 years. She also has four grandchildren, Jason(Darleen) and Jennifer Deupree and Paul and Jayne Bauer, and two great-grandchildren , Addison and Damien Deupree.
Jane was a librarian/media specialist at Baker High School for over 20 years, and a librarian and classroom teacher before that. She truly enjoyed visits from her former students, with some visiting as recently as this year, more than 20 years after her retirement. She also enjoyed traveling, taking her daughters to Alaska and also to Scandinavia and Russia, and taking all her children on a Rhine River cruise. However, her favorite source of joy has always been her family.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Monday, May 29, 2017 at Pine Crest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be sent to your favorite charity. An on-line guestbook may be signed at www.pinecrestfuneralhome.com.
