Janie Elizabeth Johnson, 89, passed away in Mobile, Alabama on Monday, October 21, 2019. Janie loved working in her yard – loved tending to her flowers. It was a hobby that gave her entertainment for many years. Above all else in this world, however, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Janie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be very missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin M. Johnson; her daughter, Carol Ann Johnson; one brother; and one sister.
Janie is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Donald) Napp and Beverly Piper; one son, Marvin Lamar Johnson; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Bosarge, Michael Piper, Gary Piper, Katie Johnson, and Shannon Johnson; six great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway on Thursday, October 24, 2019, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
