

Mrs. Jean Elizabeth Holyfield – an 83 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at a local hospital surrounded by her family. Mrs. Holyfield graduated from Murphy High School in 1946. She worked for GM&O Railroad for 10 years and was a longtime active member of a local mystic society. Mrs. Holyfield was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She joins in Heaven her sons, Harland Kelly Holyfield and Jeffrey S. Harris Holyfield; parents, Herman H. Rothenberg and Willie Mae Rothenberg; and sister, Harleen R. Collins. Mrs. Holyfield is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Frank Kelly Holyfield; daughter, Jennifer S. McIntyre (Kevin); daughter-in-law, Ada M. Holyfield; three grandchildren, Donald Keith Farnell, Jr., Logan Nicole Holyfield, and John Harris Holyfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Friday, June 17, 2011, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour.
