

Jerry “Jeff” Lewis, Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024 in Clearwater, Florida. Jeff was born to Eugene Virgil Lewis and Leila Lambert Lewis on May 15, 1937 in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from Vigor High School, and went on to graduate from Tri State University in Angola, Indiana. Jeff retired in 2002 from Linde Inc., and was a self-employed Tax Accountant. When he was growing up, Jeff loved to play rhythm and blues with his brothers, sparking a life-long passion for music. He was an accomplished bass guitar player, and never missed an opportunity to serenade friends and loved ones. Jeff was also an avid outdoorsman – he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and boating – and was also a devoted Alabama fan.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lila Haley Lewis; son, Jerry “Jeff” Lewis, Jr.; three brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Sondra Lewis Lee-Williams (Perry) of Phenix City, AL and Lynn Lewis Castle (Tim) of Tampa, FL; brother, Carl Lewis of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren: Jessica Marie Lewis Parden (Brandon) of Mobile, AL, Robert Christopher Lee of Waterloo, NC, Michael Brandon Lee (Kristina) of Clearwater, FL, Joshua Timothy Castle, David Wayne Castle, and Matthew Joseph Castle, all of Tampa, FL; five great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Jeff will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
