Jessie Carmen Flowers Brown - a 95 year-old native of Troy, Alabama and resident of Mobile passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Mrs. Brown retired from Sears-Roebuck as a department manager after many years of service. She was a longtime member of Moffett Road Baptist Church where she formerly served as an adult Sunday school teacher for many years. One of her greatest joys was reading. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Max Flowers and Gladys Eliza Folmar Flowers; husband, Monroe Luther Brown; and grandson, Brad Cooper. She is survived by three daughters, Bettye Odom, Julie B. Cooper, and Polly Miller; grandchildren, Michael Odom, Myles Odom, Mark Odom, Ginger Crenshaw, Marcia Daw, Craig Cooper, and Justin Miller; great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Graveside services will be held in Valhalla Memorial Gardens on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Moffett Road Baptist Church, 5555 Moffett Rd., Mobile, AL 36608.
