Jimmie Ray Dixon

Mr. Jimmie “Ray” Dixon passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at a local hospital after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kermit J. and Vera Sanders Dixon, sister, Janet Norris and first wife, Chiyoko Dixon. Mr. Dixon served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired after over 35 years with Local 119 as a pipefitter. He loved nature, especially boating and just being on the water, fishing and hunting. He also loved Alabama football. He leaves to cherish his memory, his adoring wife of fourteen years, Bertice McPherson. He is also survived by his uncle, Charles Ottis Sanders (Lillian), nieces, Angela Butters (Darrell), Tamara Leytham and nephew, Michael Pritchard, other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
