

CWO3 Joe Ringhoffer, USN, RET. - born July 13, 1919 in Featherston, OK and spent his youth in western Colorado and the Salt Valley of Utah. Joined the US Navy in 1939 and became a plank owner on the USS North Carolina on which he served through WWII's Pacific campaign. Retiring after 22 years, he moved to Mobile, the home town of his wife. He served as the quality control supervisor for Kaiser Aluminum in Bay Minette for another 20 + years before retiring from the corporate world. Mr. Ringhoffer was a founding member of the Spanish Fort Volunteer Fire Department, served Spanish Fort as it's civil defense director, was a deacon in the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the F & AM lodge in Spanish Fort and a 32nd degree mason. He is survived by his wife Betty Gould Ringhoffer; one son, Joseph E. Ringhoffer of Mobile; one daughter, Lois Fennell of Prattville and a daughter in law, Carolyn Ringhoffer, MD; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 10:00 AM in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, from 6 to 8 PM at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in his honor to the Friends of Magnolia Cemetery, P.O. Box 6383 Mobile, AL 36660.
