Johnnie Waurine Blount Williams

Johnnie Waurine Blount Williams, age 86, a native of Wagar, AL and lifelong resident of Citronelle, AL and most recently residing in Mobile, AL, died on October 1, 2012. Waurine was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Otis Lamar Williams. She was the daughter of Lula Ruth Napper Blount and John Wilson Blount. Waurine was a graduate of Citronelle High School and attended Howard College (Samford University). During her life she was a member and served as president of the Citronelle Women’s Club. As a member of the Citronelle Kiwanis Club, she was elected the first female club president in the state of Alabama. She was employed by Citronelle State Bank and worked many years with her husband who was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Citronelle. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Citronelle and most recently, an active member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church, Mobile. She is lovingly remembered by her children Mary Lou Casey (Rob), Bobbie Marie Grogan (Richard) and Craig Williams (Carol), her grandchildren Robby Casey, Elizabeth Williams Pullen (Jonathon) and Clair Marie Williams, her sister, Marie Blount Henson of Hawthorne, AL, very dear friend Mary Sanders of Mobile and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4th 10:00 AM until 12 noon at Dauphin Way Baptist Church in the Seaver Room (I-65 entrance). Graveside services and interment will be held at 2:00 PM in Pine Crest Cemetery, Citronelle. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Regional School for the Deaf and Blind Special Fund, 3980 Burma Road, Mobile AL 36693.
