Joseph William O'Connor

Joseph William O'Connor, affectionately known as Joe, peacefully departed this life on May 24, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at 69 years old. Joe was born February 1, 1955 in Mobile, AL, as the youngest child of Mr. Joseph Anthony O'Connor and Mrs. Christine Eleanor Price O'Connor, of Allentown, PA. He survived a tragic auto accident at 15 years old, but with great fortitude and support, went on to graduate from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in 1975.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Ann Serda, and brother-in-law, Robert J "Bobby" Serda. He is survived by siblings, Sean J. O'Connor (Diane) of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; Anthony R. O'Connor (Anita) and Christine McCollum (Ross) of Daphne, AL; and nine nieces and nephews.

Joe was a constant companion to his mother, then later to his sister Mary Ann, and was an active parishioner of St Pius X Catholic Church before moving to Daphne. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time reading about military history and American politics, and watching the sunset over Mobile Bay.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St Pius X at 11AM on June 6, 2024, prior to his interment at Catholic Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his parents. There will be a visitation one hour prior to mass time.
