Mrs. Judy-
I sat down and cried last night upon hearing the news. Joyful for your next journey but deeply saddened for those of us you leave behind. It’s been years since we last spoke in person, but after working as a barista at the Downtowner Starbucks for nearly a decade, I can honestly say I saw thousands walk through those doors, but you were special and stood out in a big way to our coffee family: that genuine smile every time you walked in. Always something exciting and positive to say. A funny or heartwarming story to share. So proud and happy to be there with your daughter when she could join you... You were a staple and a highlight of our morning rush, much the way you were for so many others throughout your life. Always very patient next to the counter as we made your extra hot latte. Quick words of wisdom on many subjects from God to family to finances as we steamed the milk and pulled the shots each day. Ready to share the word and work of God anytime someone was willing and ready to listen. A big heart. An infectious spirit. Honest and fair and trustworthy. 
We witness to people every day outside of the church doors and our congregations whether we realize it or not. Someone is always watching and there is always work to be done. I think you knew this better than most and chose to make the most of every day and every interaction. 
Thank you for choosing to live so purposefully and for your love and support through the years. May your family be at peace knowing that your memory and example and hard work will be treasured and carried forth by all who knew you.

Loved this lady. She could always brighten your day with a smile. Loved talking about all kinds of things. Especially Alabama Football.  Rest in Glory with your Savior.. Curtis 

I always loved serving her coffee at Starbucks where she would meet with friends or family or just to stop by and say hello on the way to work. She was always kind, always smiling, and always brightened up my day. It was people like her that made me feel happy and blessed to serve.  I am sure she is smiling still. 

Debra and Mandy, I was so very sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. I loved your mom and very much enjoyed being around her. She was really a lot of fun!  I attended Dauphin Way Baptist and met her there. I also enjoyed cleaning her teeth for many years when I worked for Dr. Williamson. She was a big help to me in helping me file my taxes.

I knew Judy mostly from my service on the finance committee. I found her very knowledgeable about the church’s finances and quite witty. She will be greatly missed.

I loved this precious lady! She was so fun. We shared life, Church,  football, cheerleading, baseball and snow skiing together with her, her children and grandchildren.  She loved to laugh and have a good time.  In all of the years (61) that I knew Judy (mawmaw) I always saw that beautiful smile. Even after a little discipline with grandchildren and grandchildren’s friends, she always smiled.  Judy loved to share the Word of Jesus Christ with people. The world truly lost a great lady yesterday. But, Heaven certainly gained a great angel at the same time. Judy I will ALWAYS love you and remember all of the fun times we had. I love you.

I love this lady.  She ALWAYS had a smile on her face.  

Judy had done our taxes for 28 years.  It was always great to reconnect with her at tax time.  We were saddened this January, when I called her and heard about her illness.

My favorite memory with her, was in London, going to Phantom of the Opera.  

Hope by now, she has met up with my son Brandon, in heaven.

I first met Judy while we were on mission with DWBC in Guatemala back in November 2008. It was a joy getting to know her and working with her. I have a pic of the 2 of us painting window frames at a seminary there in Guatemala. After the trip every time she saw me at church she said, "Hey Kelly!" and we would chat a minute. She was truly a delight. 

Loved this lady so much. She definitely left a mark on my heart, as I know she did so many others. Will keep her last voicemail on my phone indefinitely. Hugs to the family 💕

She is preceded in death by her Husband Grady Eugene Montgomery and father Charles Julius Tew.  Survivors include her mother Edith Louise Tew, daughters: Debra (Mark) Swanzy and Mandy (Kevin) Kennedy. Grandchildren Whitney (J.T.) Hornbuckle, Hunter (Kelsey) Swanzy. Caitlin Kennedy and Montgomery (Emily) Kennedy. Great grandchildren Charlie and James Tyler.
