Kathryn Marie Vittor

Kathryn Krebs Vittor – of Mobile, AL passed away June 10, 2013, with her family at her bedside. Born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1918, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Adolph and Mary Margaret Krebs, and by her infant daughter, Dolores, as well as by the love of her life, husband C. Frank Vittor. She is survived by sons, Dr. C. Frank (Nanami) Vittor of Ellicott City, MD, Dr. Barry A. (Sharon) Vittor of Mobile, AL, and John A. Vittor of Mobile, AL; daughters, Linda K. (Don) Magoffin of Dulzura, CA, Sandra K. Grant of Post Falls, ID, Vera V. Gillis of Mobile, AL, Frances L. Lowe of Suffolk, VA, Victoria L. Jeric of Richmond, VA, Dr. Virginia J. Hulstrand, and Anita D. Burt of Apache Junction, AZ; beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren numbering 59, whose birthdays and events she delighted in keeping up with! Kathryn’s older sister, Margaret Smith, and baby sister, Carol (Ernest) Koehler still reside in El Cajon, CA. Her dear college friend, Jo Rovira, lives in FL. Kathryn loved to paint portraits and landscapes and creating sculptures of her loved ones. She and Frank lived in snowy Pennsylvania and moved to sunny San Diego County after the War. Eventually, they came to Mobile after Frank retired from teaching. Kathryn loved to keep up with her friends and her ever-growing family right up to her passing. A new joy for her was joining the congregation of Orchard Baptist Church and being baptized again in affirmation of her faith. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
