It is with extreme sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kenneth “Kenny” Adams, on Saturday, June 15th, 2024. Kenny was born on March 3, 1946 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He moved to Fairhope, Alabama in the 1960’s and graduated from Fairhope High School in 1965. Following graduation, Kenny enlisted in the United States Navy and was assigned to the submarine tender USS Fulton. He honorably served 4 years in the Navy and two “boots on the ground” tours of duty in Vietnam.
Kenny’s dream was always to be a police officer...a dream he attained when joining the City of Mobile Police Department in the 1980’s. He had a distinguished career on the force for over 25 years, retiring as a detective. In the course of his career, he received countless commendations and awards, including several “Officer of the Month” awards as well as “Officer of the Year.”
Kenny was pre-deceased by his mother, Glenda Anderson Nolte, brother Mike Nolte, and his beloved grandparents, Bryant and Mable Anderson, with whom he made his childhood home. He is survived by his three children: Kenneth Bryant Adams, Andrea Adams-Bahouth (Don) and Elizabeth Harvell, grandson Landon Harvell, wife Carolyn Adams, beloved cousin Dennis Long-who was more like a brother- brothers John and Ed Nolte and sisters Charlotte Parsons and Shirley Nolte, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and countless very close friends.
Kenny Adams enjoyed life. His humor, positivity and good nature endeared him to many. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting, watching old western movies, road trips, and trips to the casino. He loved watching baseball games-especially the Angels- with his son Bryant. He loved going out to eat with his family and friends and meeting up with his buddies for coffee at the Waffle House. His beautiful life will forever be cherished by those who loved him.
Funeral services will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Monday, June 24th. Visitation will be from 10-11am for family and 11am-Noon for the public, followed by a service with Pastor Ed Connick officiating. Burial will follow at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, AL. The family welcomes your presence at a reception following the funeral. Close friends and family will gather at Oak Hollow Farm at 14210 Greeno Road in Fairhope, Alabama from 3pm-5pm.
Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Clemmer, Skyler Long, Blake Long, Steven Bahouth, Kris Bahouth, and Ryan Goodman.
