LaRoy was a loving husband of sixty years, a grandfather of 13, a great grandfather of 13 soon to be 15 great-grandchildren, and a devoted friend to anyone he met. He was employed with Delchamps for 17 years, where he served in a managerial role. He was a carpenter by trade and owner of Squires Construction and Cabinets. He was known to be a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and camping with his beloved wife and friends. He loved his family, friends, and church and was known for his sense of humor. LaRoy was a member of Pathway for over 35 years. He served in multiple capacities such as overseeing construction of several buildings and driving the bus for choirs, kids and youth trips. He built many houses with a strong foundation, but his greatest accomplishment was building his family on a foundation of God and love. He fought a courageous battle and demonstrated an outpouring of love to all those who came in contact with him. In his final days, he wanted everyone to know that “Everything’s going to be okay”. Special thanks to all the wonderful nurses and physicians from Saad Healthcare and Southern Cancer Center for treating our husband, father, and pawpaw as one of your own.
