

Lawrence Minto Sylvestre was born in Belize, British Honduras on October 4, 1937 and died in Mobile, AL on October 23, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Maurice and Joan Denbigh Sylvestre. He is survived by his sisters Dr. Diane Sylvestre and Dr. Jeanne Sylvestre. Minto was a graduate of Tulane University and served as a Systems Engineer and Executive for IBM for 26 years, working in Mobile, New York and Europe. He was a member of All Saints Church, Harrison, New York where he served as Treasurer and after retiring to Mobile he was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Minto was known for his keen and enquiring mind, his kind and loving heart and his fine sense of humor. He dearly loved music and enjoyed traveling throughout the world. His sisters will receive friends in the Church Parlor at St Paul’s Church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 followed by a service in the Chapel. Interment will be at Old Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers his sisters ask that donations be made to St. Paul’s Church. Pallbearers will be Louis Carr, Forbes Kilborn, Ernest Ladd, Basil McNeely, Greg Prescott and Ray Stacy.
