
Lillian Doris Meux Yeager – a 91 year old native of Hot Springs, AR and a longtime resident of Mobile passed in Nashville, TN on Monday, January 5, 2015. A retired registered nurse, she received her BS in Nursing from Charity Hospital in New Orleans. While there, she met her husband of 68 years, the late Dr. Jack O. Yeager. Mrs. Yeager served as a WAC in China during World War II and is listed in the Women of WWII Museum at Arlington National Cemetery. She served on the board and was past-president of the Alabama Children's Home and was instrumental in establishing its Mobile campus. Mrs. Yeager also served as president of the Mobile Medical Society, was a docent at the Mobile Medical Museum and worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross for over 25 years. She was a longtime active member of Dauphin Way and Springhill Baptist Churches where she taught Sunday school, VBS, worked in Missions, and was flower committee chairman. Her family also served as a host family for the Junior Miss Pageant for over 10 years. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Yeager was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Meux and Minnie Estelle Jones Meux. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Ann Yeager Loffi (Robert M.) of Nashville, TN; grandsons, M. Jonathon Loffi and Christopher H. Loffi of Nashville; other relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held at Spring Hill Baptist Church on Monday, January 12, 2015, from 10:30 a.m. until the 11: 30 a.m. memorial service.
